Isabelle Schirmer is the prime architect and organiser of the Verbier Mobility Investment Forum which she designed as a member of the Verbier Institute team.
Isabelle is an adviser and investor focused on the environmental sector. She has nearly 30 years of international experience in strategy, corporate development, M&A and investment applied to the natural resources, industry and energy. From late 2010 to mid-2014, Isabelle was investment adviser for a venture capital fund incubated by Hazel Capital which invested in renewable energy generation, clean transportation and sustainable building materials. Prior to this, she held senior executive roles with BP Plc and Arjo Wiggins Appleton (industrial group focused in specialty and fine papers ) and she was a senior consultant with London Economics. She started her career as a project economist with the World Bank, based in Washington DC.
Isabelle holds an MBA from INSEAD (Distinction) and Master’s degrees from both the Paris Institute of Technology (Agro Paris Tech) and the University of Wisconsin in the US (forestry econometrics ).
Isabelle has long held interests in resource efficiency, environmental management and development economics. She is a non-executive director of City Car Club, the largest independent car club in the UK.

Pawel Porowski heads the communication and logistics planning of the Verbier Mobility Investment Forum.
Pawel is a sustainability professional specialising in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and organisational change. He has six years experience coordinating outreach activities and events, building partnerships and developing networks. His multidisciplinary background spans social and environmental sciences as well as business development and corporate sustainability, with additional facilitation training from the Art of Hosting community of practitioners. Pawel has thus been able to bring systems thinking and a diverse communication toolset to sustainability projects in Canada, Sweden and Switzerland that address complex socio-environmental issues. In addition, fifteen years in the hospitality and food industry have given Pawel a solid foundation in quality assurance, event management and guest services.
He holds a BA in Geography and Political Science from Concordia University (Montreal) and a MSc in Strategic Leadership toward Sustainability from Sweden’s Blekinge Institute of Technology.
